John Pollard is Associate Professor of Practice in Chemistry and Biochemistry and the co-author of the Chemical Thinking curriculum and supporting ebook. John has been leading the College of Science Teachers Forum class for the UA Science Lecture Series since the early days of the series and is passionate about the education of educators. In particular, he is interested in working with teachers to help them take content from the lectures and bring it to their classrooms. John spearheaded the UA’s Collaborative Learning Space Project where traditional classrooms and library spaces are being transformed into learning environments suited for classes centered on active learning approaches. John’s current research interests are focused on understanding how student meta-cognitive patterns relate to their engagement in the classroom and learning outcomes.
